Uneven tone is not one problem. What works depends on what caused it, so we manage pigment from three directions rather than one.

First, slow the pigment being made
Alpha arbutin, tranexamic acid, licorice root and N-acetyl glucosamine work on the pigment step by different routes, so they can be layered rather than competing for the same one. Tranexamic acid in particular works on the tone that stays behind after repeated flushing, which is a different cause from a sun freckle and needs a different answer.

Second, move the surface along
Gluconolactone, a large and mild PHA, keeps the surface turning over without the irritation that makes pigment worse. On skin that marks easily, an aggressive peel frequently causes more marking than it removes, because the mark is a response to inflammation and a strong peel is inflammation.

Third, stop new pigment being triggered
That is sunscreen, which we do not make. Use one anyway. Nothing here can outrun new sun exposure, and the most common reason a brightening routine fails is that it is quietly being undone every afternoon.

Antioxidant cover alongside
Stable vitamin C, as magnesium ascorbyl phosphate and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, adds tone work and daytime protection at the same time.
