Most skincare brands write a recipe and send it to a factory. We do not have a factory. We have a laboratory in Surrey, British Columbia, and it is down the hall from the treatment rooms.
That corridor is the whole point. A formula is weighed and blended at one end and used on real skin at the other, so what the skin does about it comes back the same week rather than the following season.
Every batch is capped at what will actually be used, lot numbered, and signed off by the person who wrote it. Nothing is handed to a plant and nothing is licensed in. When a formula changes, it changes because something was observed in the treatment room, not because a supplier substituted a raw material.
Ingredient addition, processing conditions, temperature and batch handling are controlled here rather than handed to a third party manufacturer.

Tens of thousands of units are made at once, then warehoused, shipped and shelved. The formula has to survive that whole journey before anyone opens it.
The batch is sized to what will actually be used. The interval between mixing and skin is measured in weeks rather than in seasons.
A large vessel takes a long time to reach temperature and a long time to come down. Everything in it spends longer hot.
A small vessel heats and cools quickly, so heat sensitive material spends less time at temperature.
The cool down is long, so the window for adding delicate ingredients is wide and approximate.
Actives are added at a defined temperature and stirred only as long as they need, each batch on its own plate.
Uniformity across every unit and stability across a long shelf life. Both pull toward more stable, less reactive forms and toward concentrations that will still be intact in two years.
What is on the skin at the moment of use. Shelf life still matters, but it is not the constraint that writes the formula.

Clara Song built Complete Elixir from two perspectives that rarely sit in the same room: data and skin. Her background in health care and longevity data science trained her to question assumptions, look for patterns and separate correlation from evidence. Her work as a medical aesthetician showed her something equally important: skin does not always behave the way a textbook, ingredient list or marketing claim suggests it should.
In the treatment room, she repeatedly saw clients whose concerns overlapped. Acne with dehydration. Pigmentation with sensitivity. Aging skin that could no longer tolerate aggressive routines. Skin recovering from professional procedures while also dealing with environmental stress and a weakened barrier. These were not simple single-concern cases, and conventional product categories often did not reflect that complexity.
That became the starting point for Complete Elixir.
Rather than beginning with a trending ingredient or a target percentage for the front of a box, Clara begins with the condition of the skin and the function the finished formula needs to perform. Each ingredient has to justify its place not only by what research says it can do in isolation, but by how it behaves inside the complete system: its compatibility, stability, processing requirements, delivery environment and relationship with the other ingredients around it.
She is especially interested in the gap between what is listed on a label and what the skin ultimately receives. A high concentration means little if an ingredient is unstable, poorly incorporated, incompatible with the rest of the formula or delivered in a way the skin cannot tolerate. For Clara, formulation is the work of balancing efficacy with the biological limits of real skin.
Every Complete Elixir formula is developed and produced in the company laboratory in Surrey, British Columbia. Clara works directly with the raw materials, observes how formulas change during processing, records each batch and follows their performance beyond the laboratory. Small-batch manufacturing allows her to stay close to those details rather than separating formulation from production.
Her work also continues into the treatment room. Professional procedures, ultrasound infusion, microneedling recovery and post-treatment skin provide another layer of observation: how formulas spread, layer, feel, tolerate repeated use and perform when the skin is already under stress. Those observations return to the laboratory and influence future formulation decisions and professional protocols.
That same thinking is carried into Complete Elixir Academy. Clara teaches estheticians and skin professionals how to look beyond product claims and understand skin biology, active ingredients, barrier function, pigmentation, acne, recovery and formulation logic. The goal is not simply to tell professionals what product to use, but to give them enough understanding to know why, when and for whom it makes sense.
The person deciding why an ingredient belongs in the bottle is the same person weighing it, blending it, observing it on skin and teaching professionals how to use it.
